Bethel Neighborhood Center
|
Bethel Neighborhood Center has been serving people of all ages -- from infants to senior adults in the Kansas City, Kansas community for 99 years, since 1911. It has a history of serving newly immigrated or migrated people groups to the Kansas City community who consist primarily of economically challenged and underserved families and individuals. We serve the community through meals, food pantry, health, educational, and recreational programs to promote physical and social wellness. Presently, the largest group of people Bethel Neighborhood Center serves is the Hispanic people followed by the newly immigrated people from Myanmar (Burma) and Bhutan.
Since early 1920s, Bethel Neighborhood Center has been recognized as a United Way agency. Since 1971, Bethel Neighborhood Center has been recognized as a nutrition site by Area Agency on Aging of Wyandotte County.
